Seasonal Flu and Autumn Covid Vaccinations
At Cowes Medical Centre, we offer seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to protect eligible patients. Below, you will find information on who is eligible, how to book, and where you will receive your vaccine.
Flu Vaccination
Who is eligible?
The NHS flu vaccine is free for:
From 1st Sept 2025:
- Pregnant women
- Children aged 2 and 3 years old (nasal spray)- (Primary school-aged children are offered through schools)
- Children in clinical risk groups
From 1st Oct 2025:
- Adults aged 65 and over
- People with long-term health conditions aged 18 plus (e.g., diabetes, asthma, heart disease)
- Carers and frontline health or social care workers
- Patients in long stay residential homes
- Household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals

How do I book?
- If you have a mobile, you will receive a text message with a booking link.
- You can call the practice or visit reception to schedule your appointment.
How and where will I receive the vaccine?
- Vaccinations are by appointment although you may be offered it opportunistically if attending for another matter.
- The majority of vaccination appointments are on a Saturday morning, so as not to reduce the level of other appointments we deliver all year round.
- Housebound patients will be contacted to arrange a home visit.
COVID-19 Vaccination
Who is eligible?
The Autumn 2025 COVID-19 Booster is available for:
- Adults aged 75 and over
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- People with weakened immune systems aged 18- 74 years old

How do I book?
- If you have a mobile, you will receive a text message with a booking link.
- You can call the practice or visit reception to schedule your appointment.
- COVID-19 vaccinations cannot be booked via the NHS App – please use the link in the text message or contact reception.
